£1,000 raised from a pop up shop with a Groovy visitor

4 Apr 2018

Premier art retailers, artrepublic, are already raising money for Martlets ahead of taking their place as Snail sponsors on the Snailway this Autumn. Over two weeks they opened a pop-up unit next to their shop on Bond St selling prints at discounted prices. Snailspace’s very own ‘Feeling Groovy’, designed by Pinky, took pride of place in the window to draw in curious customers. In total over £1,000 was raised for the Hospice.

Andrew Milledge, Director artrepublic explained why they wanted to get involved in the Snailspace project:

“We’re excited to be involved in Snailspace as Snowdogs was a great experience for us and it was fantastic to be involved in an art project that raised so much money for Martlets.

We love the snails as they are such a great canvas for artists and as with Snowdogs, we’re going to encourage our artists to submit designs. We also love the fact that this is such an inclusive art event, which brings joy to the city, but it is also a great promotional opportunity for the featured artists.

The pop-up shop was a great way to start fundraising for Martlets and ‘Feeling Groovy’ was a fabulous addition to the gallery.”

We’d just like to say a huge thank you to these truly groovy sponsors.
