All Aboard the Snail Bus

All Aboard the Snail Bus

All Aboard the Snail Bus

This Snail is a vintage bus and carries seaside characters from the Brighton and Hove seafront. It is decorated in red and cream, the colour of rhubarb and custard, which is a reference to the colour and nickname of the old vintage buses. Among the passengers are a starfish, a dolphin and a pair of seahorses with a picnic basket.

Created by Susan Webber, a freelance artist based in Somerset, All Aboard the Snail Bus was inspired by visits to vintage bus rallies around the West Country. Check out the conductor – he’s a penguin! And on the top deck you’ll discover seagulls in the back seats eating chips and singing “Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!”
