Inca Snail Rubbing Shoulders with the Stars

8 Oct 2018

Inca Snail, sponsored by Graves Son and Pilcher, was getting lots of attention on Wednesday morning as BBC weather presenter and Dancing with the Stars alumna, Carol Kirkwood, tweeted a ‘Snailfie’ of herself giving Inca Snail a big hug!

Carol was in Brighton to report on the first visit of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to the county since the Queen bestowed the title on them on their wedding day.

Big crowds were expected throughout the day, so Carol was on site bright and early to find the best spot.

As Inca Snail is positioned just outside the South Gate of the Royal Pavilion, he was hard for her to miss!

When Carol tweeted “Found a ‘big snail’”, we just had to tell her all about Snailspace and the work Martlets is doing to support those affected by terminal illness in our community.

Judy Murray, another Dancing with the Stars alumna and mother of tennis stars Andy and Jamie Murray, was even quicker to reply to Carol’s Snail-loving tweet, asking if Carol had found the “man of her dreams”!

The Express ran an article featuring Carol’s affectionate ‘Snailfie’ and this SNAILtastic twitter exchange the very next day, highlighting Judy’s teasing comment. They explained how our Snails are raising funds for Martlets and declared that the Snailway had “gone down a hit”.

Everyone at Snailspace HQ agrees with Judy, we think Inca Snail is pretty special!
