Martlets Care sponsors snail
Martlets Care is the latest organisation to show their support for Martlets Hospice and the Snailspace campaign by signing up as sponsors. Their snail will take its place on the Snailway in Brighton alongside 49 other giant gastropods.
Martlets Care is a home care agency, owned by and contributing all profits to the Martlets Hospice. Martlets Care has a team of 80 care workers and 7 office staff and provides personal care services to adults with various medical and mobility needs in their own homes in Brighton & Hove and surrounds. The agency has contributed over half a million pounds to the running of the hospice over the past five years and was awarded ‘Best Care Employer’ in the south east by the Great British Care Awards.
Artist Tina Davies who will be creating the Martlets Care sponsored snail says “I am so excited to be involved in this fabulous project by the Martlets and so proud to be sponsored by Martlets Care as I am very aware of the wonderful work they do”. Tina Davies is a professional artist and living and working locally in Brighton. Her work is inspired by the synergy of nature and she creates beautiful and striking work using a variety of mediums including oils, ink and clay – using her hands instead of tools.
Kirsty Osborne from Martlets Care, who chose the snail design created by Tina Davies, says “We are delighted to sponsor the snail and look forward to seeing the public reaction to Tina’s beautiful design when it joins the Snailway this autumn – and they will understand why we as a care agency have chosen our snail, in our roles in looking after individuals at times in their lives when they are vulnerable and in need of extra care.”
