Nick Sharratt helps us deliver a Snail to West Hove Infants School
Nick Sharratt, our Learners Ambassdor gave pupils at West Hove Infants School a very big surprise when he helped deliver their Junior Snail. Pupils from reception, Year 1 and 2 were thrilled to meet the famous illustrator and get to have their picture taken with him and their very own snail. Over the last 3 days we have been delivering over fifty mini snails to schools and youth groups all around the city and beyond. Although our Martlets drivers are used to making multiple deliveries it has taken military like planning to organise the drop off of this precious cargo.
Once the schools have their gastropod they have the rest of the term to turn them into stunning and unique works of art, which will be displayed alongside the giant snails in September.
Participating schools can decorate their own snail in anyway that they like. Some are running competitions for the best designs, others are involving after-school art clubs, whilst many, like West Hove Infants, want to create a design that involves every pupil in the school.
So far, all of the schools, nurseries and youth groups involved have pledged to raise over £40,000 for us, which is just amazing. We think they’ve #snailedit already!
