Shelltastic Bodywork by T. Reeve & Sons
Family-run car repair and bodywork specialists, T. Reeve & Sons, have stepped into the breach to help varnish our final six snails to ensure they have a professional finish in time for the launch of Snailspace in September.
More used to spraying cars than giant mollusc shells, the local firm has been sliding the snails into the workshop in between motoring jobs. As the giant snails will be braving the elements for 9 weeks it is vital that they have a protective coat of clear coat lacquer to protect them against the variable UK weather. It will ensure that when they come up for auction in December they will still be beautiful works of art.
Tom Reeve, Director of T. Reeve & Sons explained why they wanted to help:
“The Martlets is very close to our hearts. My mother in law has been in there over the past few weeks and unfortunately passed away last week. The care she and the family received was amazing and by helping with the snails we feel like we are contributing a tiny bit to a superb cause.”
We’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at T.Reeve & Sons who are another example of Snailspace local heroes.
