Things Are Looking Up

Inspired by the enchanting starling murmurations that hypnotically swirl through Brighton’s skies, Things Are Looking Up is a sight to behold. Designer Sarah Jane Hughes fell in love with the shape-shifting displays as a girl on her grandmother’s farm in Anglesey, and was later captivated by the birds’ rhythmic formations while filming them in Brighton for the band The Chemical Brothers.

Sarah Jane is a Brighton-based photographer and designer who has worked in the music, film and fashion industries. As dusk descends over the city, lift your eyes and your spirits and witness the mysterious starling performances that are as magical and beautiful as Brighton itself.
